  • History of the Nine Systems

    Origins and Expansion

In the distant future, humanity’s reach extended beyond the confines of Earth, driven by insatiable greed and the lust for power. The Nine Systems, a collection of nine solar systems each teeming with habitable planets, became the stage for humanity’s most ambitious and darkest chapter.

    System One (restricted)

System One, the cradle of the Nine Systems, was discovered first. Rich in resources, it became the epicenter of human expansion. However, the discovery was marred by the enslavement of indigenous species and the ruthless exploitation of natural resources. Entire planets were stripped bare, their ecosystems destroyed to fuel the burgeoning human empire.

    System Two: The Industrial Heart

System Two quickly followed, becoming the industrial heart of the Nine Systems. Massive factories and mining operations were established, often at the expense of local populations. The skies of its planets were choked with pollution, and the ground was scarred by relentless extraction. The inhabitants were forced into labor, their lives deemed expendable in the pursuit of progress.

System Three: The Seat of Power

System Three, our Solar System, with Earth at its center, became the breadbasket of the empire. Vast agricultural complexes were built, but the bounty came at a terrible cost. Native species were driven to extinction, and the land was worked by slaves brought from other systems. Earth, specifically the city of New Orleans Prime, housed the paramount seat of government, where the ruling elite orchestrated their conquests.

    System Four (restricted)

System Four was designated as a restricted military zone, off-limits to civilians. It became a testing ground for the empire’s most devastating weapons and a training ground for its military forces. Classified experiments and covert operations were conducted in secrecy, often resulting in catastrophic destruction. The few who dared to venture into System Four without authorization were never seen again. System Four houses the Nine Systems’ most secretive and secure installations.

    System Five: The Cultural Hub

System Five was envisioned as a cultural hub, a place where art and knowledge would flourish. However, the reality was far darker. Cultural artifacts were plundered from conquered worlds, and dissent was brutally suppressed. The ruling class used propaganda to maintain control, rewriting history to glorify their conquests and erase the atrocities committed.

    System Six: The Technological Frontier

System Six became the technological frontier, home to advanced research and development. But innovation came at a high price. Scientists and engineers were often coerced into service, their families held hostage to ensure compliance. Failed experiments and accidents were common, leading to widespread suffering and loss of life.

    System Seven: The Pleasure Worlds

System Seven was developed into a series of pleasure worlds, catering to the whims of the elite. These planets were paradises on the surface, but beneath the veneer of luxury lay a dark underbelly. The local populations were subjugated and forced into servitude, their cultures erased to create playgrounds for the rich and powerful.

    System Eight: The Penal Colonies

System Eight was transformed into a series of penal colonies, where the empire sent its most dangerous criminals and political dissidents. These harsh environments were designed to break the spirit of the incarcerated, with brutal labor camps and minimal resources for survival. The planets of System Eight became synonymous with suffering and despair, a stark warning to those who dared to oppose the ruling regime.

    System Nine: The Final Frontier

System Nine, the last to be discovered, was the final frontier. It represented the ultimate reach of the empire, a symbol of its dominance. But the expansion into System Nine was marked by fierce resistance from indigenous species. The ensuing conflicts were brutal, with entire planets laid waste in the struggle for control.

    Legacy of the Nine Systems

The history of the Nine Systems is a testament to humanity’s capacity for both greatness and cruelty. The empire that spanned these systems was built on a foundation of exploitation, oppression, and violence. The legacy of the Nine Systems serves as a stark reminder of the cost of unchecked ambition and the dark side of human nature.

Chronological History of Colonization on Earth

Seminal Events Leading to the Conquering of the Nine Systems

    1. The Discovery of Faster-Than-Light Travel (FTL) – 3008 CE. The breakthrough in FTL technology allowed humanity to explore beyond the Solar System. This discovery marked the beginning of interstellar colonization and conquest.

    2. The Unification Wars – 3030-3050 CE . A series of brutal conflicts on Earth led to the unification of all nations under a single global government. This centralized power structure facilitated coordinated efforts for space exploration and expansion.

    3. The Terraforming of Mars – 3060 CE . Successful terraforming of Mars demonstrated humanity’s ability to transform hostile environments into habitable worlds. This achievement boosted confidence in colonizing other planets.

    4. The First Contact with Extraterrestrial Life – 2185 CE . Humanity’s first encounter with an alien species resulted in conflict and the eventual subjugation of the extraterrestrial beings. This event set a precedent for future interactions with indigenous species in other systems.

    5. The Resource Wars – 3100-3120 CE . Fierce competition for dwindling resources on Earth and Mars led to the exploitation of newly discovered planets in System One and System Two. These wars fueled the expansionist agenda and justified the use of force to secure resources.

    6. The Establishment of New Orleans Prime – 3150 CE . The construction of New Orleans Prime on Earth as the paramount seat of government solidified the control of the ruling elite. From this city, strategies for the conquest and administration of the Nine Systems were devised and executed.

His exceptional performance led to his selection for the Personal Security Detail of the Chancellor before seperating from military service. Soon after, Jake’s training began at the prestigious Nine Systems Federal & Galactic Enforcement Academy, where he underwent a grueling regimen that included: Advanced Combat Techniques including Mastery of both traditional and energy-based weapons; Tactical Infiltration including Stealth operations and intelligence gathering in hostile territories; Cyber Warfare, including Hacking and counter-hacking in a galaxy where information is power; Alien Physiology, understanding and combating various alien species; and Zero-Gravity Combat Fighting in environments with no gravity. During this time, he served on “Bug Duty,” exterminating alien species who, according to the federal government, “present a nuisance to trade, commerce, and the free flow of markets.” Because of the intelligent nature of many of these alien species, this often required detailed planning and, later, expert combat skills. He later left Bug Duty to serve as a Federal Agent. He is also a expert small- and medium-class starship pilot.
